Picture from caranddriver.com

This is the epideme of the automotive industry the Bugatti Veyron. The Veyron super sport is fastest and most expensive production street legal car in the world. The Veyron 16.4 super sport has been modified from its last model to reach 15 mph more than its' predecessor. They were capable of doing this by adjusting the suspension, making the roofline a little longer for better aerodynamics, and re-disigned the front fascia of the vehicle. Also the engine's horsepower was upped from the measly old 1001hp to 1200hp by installing 4 bigger turbos. Yes, the car is a quad turbo. With these upgrades and the full carbon fiber body the Bugatti Veyron's top speed is 264 mph. The limited production vehicle will be the last batch of the promised 300 Veyron cars and only 40 will be produced at the price tag of $2,426,904. This is every car enthusiast dream car it has style, luxury, and not to mention speed.

2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

2011 Ford F-150 Raptor SVT-Picture from Motortrend.com

Ford has really changed the trend in performance pick up trucks. The norm in the industry is making them powerful and fast but only for street use. Ford has created the F-150 Raptor which is a sort of Baja inspired pick up truck with a powerful new motor, the 6.2L V8 aka "hurricane". This motor will only be used for this F-150. The suspension was fully re-designed by SVT ( special vehicles team ) with a new fox suspension, a smaller 5.5 ft truck bed, widened body by 7 inches, and hardened plastic front fenders. This model is around $40,000 and is a great deal if this is your cup of tea. There is a special edition being released in 2011 with more suspension modification and 2 inches higher around 500hp, grill light bar, roll cage, and truck bed mounted spare tire. There will only be 50 produced of this limited edition and will carry a price tag of $100-125,000. This is a steep price to pay but is geared towards Baja race teams as a time trial vehicle but with comfort. I am not into Baja racing but this vehicle has to be my favorite and something I am looking into buying in the near future. If you want a truck that really does everything you need it to do from work loads, towing, or mudding to sand dunes this vehicle does it all.

What is all the hype about GYMKHANA?

gymkhana  - Show Spelled Pronunciation[ jim- kah-nuh]
1. 1 a field day held for equestrians, consisting of exhibitions of horsemanship and much pageantry.
2. any of various other sporting events, as a gymnastics exhibition or surfing contest.
Derived from the Hindi word, this Indian term is used to describe a sport that test the skills of the competitors in various meets and obsticals.
The next big thing in the auto industry is called GYMKHANA. It had started in the 60’s and continued into the 80's but was really only popular in Japan and Europe. Since in the us Japanese cars have become significantly more popular this sport has started and is catching on quickly here. Gymkhana is about controlling your vehicle through a course normally in an open parking lot or field. There are various cones, obstacles, 360 and 180 turns that must be performed all with style, technique, and speed to get the best time. This is something that I would love to experience but it is a very expensive sport. The requirements to Gymkhana is normally a 4wd vehicle with about 500 hp, hydraulic brake lever, very expensive tires, and a very good driver. One of the best Gymkhana drivers is Ken Block, and below I will include his very famous video. Ken creates the crazies tracks which are said to be Gymkhana on steroids, and he did all this to improve his rally driving skills. Check out the video and link below.

2011 Scion TC Transformed

Picture thanks to autoguide.com

Scion is making a big comeback to its flagship vehicle in 2011.  Many people were expecting maybe something turbo for this years model since that is the new trend in the car industry. They went another route, and kept the car affordable since that is the whole reason to buy a coupe from scion. They re-designed it and made it 2 inches wider and made the car look a little meaner with a different front end.  They fitted the vehicle with a new 2.5 4cyl motor and a 6-speed manual or auto transmission. This improved power and did not sacrifice gas efficiency which also improved from last year to 23(city)/31(highway) mpg.  The Wheels and tires were also drastically improved to 18 inch wheels for better handling. We can now say this vehicle is a true economy coupe and it is priced around $18,275. In my honest opinion it makes me want to go out and get one it kind of has a Lexus series headlights and a more Euro looking body like from an Audi. To me this car is going to be an even bigger hit and its what Toyota/Scion need to help the brand revive from the recalls.
